Chi straightener really straightens and evenly distrubutes heat, lessening split ends.and i've used blue digital 1 inch CHI Ceramic Hairstyling Straightener iron, you can have a try.
These two sites may have reviews from consumers:

Is origional CHI hair straightener the best?
Is the origional CHI the best? or are the Turbo, or Nano ones better?
I'm going to get a 1'; one...Is origional CHI hair straightener the best?
I personally believe that the other CHI models are a complete waste of money because the original is fantastic! I have had my for 2 years, and never had a problem...and I drop it all the time. What's nice about the CHI is that is can keep even the most stubborn of hair straight all day. If it does break, you can send it back in to the manufacturer and they will fix it or replace it for only $15 (as long as you keep the box). The second best CHI model is the Wet to Dry one. Your hair dries instantly! The original CHI runs about $149 and the Wet to Dry is about $199. The best sales on the CHI are at JcPenney, in fact on December 9th they go on sale for 20% off, and I can email you a coupon for an additional 20% off of anything in the salon. Is origional CHI hair straightener the best?
I just purchased the new Sedu ...its the one that just came out. I received it today in the mail so I will try it out tomorrow. I don't know about the CHI...I have read good and bad reviews about all of them. I guess its just a gamble you take. I think they basically all are good ( the cheaper ones I would shy away from) if you haven't been to the website folica you need to go there they have tons of reviews by users on all of the flat irons. I wish you luck in whatever you decide !
If 425 degrees is the best or better. Get one you can change the temp on. Onl y 425 is not good!
Dollar for dollar, the original CHI has to be one of the best ones out there. I personally have a Sedu (got it as a gift last Christmas). I have 2 younger nieces who share an Original CHI. They have had theirs for over a year now. They decided to buy one after having burned out 2 cheapie models that they got at a drugstore.
That being said, there are some advances with the newer models. The Turbo models have a variable temperature setting. This means you can dial in the perfect temp for your hair type. If you have normal hair than this is not a big deal, but if you have fine or damaged hair, you will want to start off on the lower temperature settings.
The nano is a strange one. It gets its name from nano technology. There is something special in the plastic housing that prevents bacteria from growing on it. Unless you work in a salon or germs are a concern, then its usually not a big deal. Also, the nano also comes in a digital model that means you can control the temp very precisely.
The original, turbo and nano all have a 10 foot power cord that swivels 360 degrees. This helps prevent damage to the power cord and can make it easier to use (especially at the back of your head).
All in all, at $80 the original CHI is quite a deal. The turbo goes for $110 and the nano starts at $130 I think. I would say pick your price range and go for one. They do amazing results.

GHDs are the best thing on the market right now. im not sure which country their manufactured in, either the UK or Australia i can't remember. They're better than the chi and last longer. You can compare them on Amazon.com
Well in my opinion the original CHI is the best. I am a stylist and I have owned mine for about 7 years. I have ordered the new ones for my clients and there always seems to be something going wrong with them. I love my CHI!!!!
Hello, in reply to your question:
Is the original CHI the best? or are the Turbo, or Nano ones better?
GHD are by far the best as a product although if not used correctly there are all bad, if you use a straightener regularly you will damage your hair, it will seal the cuticles (fibres) along your hair shaft, long term you will find your hair board stiff like.
You will find a lot of breakage small or short hair鈥檚 sticking up.
Try this look in the mirror with good lighting and you will see lots of short hairs, we hairdressers call it breakage and it takes years to fix.
Unfortunately fashion rules although style last forever.
Here is a thought, just because models with size 4 figures can wear hipsters doesn鈥檛 mean that it looks good on size 12, 14,16 etc.
Same goes for your hair just because a lot of girls can wear it doesn鈥檛 mean it suites every girl, you need to take face shapes, body shapes and personalties into account.
With all that said women will do what their want regardless if it stuffs their hair. And then will complain about the cost to fix it.

Which model of Chi hair straightener ?
Which model is best if I wanna get a chi hair straightener ?Which model of Chi hair straightener ?
I once went through 6 CHIs in less than two years between my mother and I, which is insane, because we both take VERY good care of such things. CHI does a great job straightening and curling, however, it is not durable. From cords fraying for no reason to fuses blowing out of the blue, CHIs have proven overpriced to me. One flat iron that works just as well and is half the price is Solia, which is sold at Folica.com. They are $80-$90 and I recommend the 1'; iron. DON'T BUY A CHI! Like I said, they do work well, but you can get the same results for half the price and, Solia's flat irons have lasted me up to 2 years... not 2 months like CHI. I've always been told that I have gorgeous hair, and it's usually straight... I will never buy anything but Solia again.Which model of Chi hair straightener ?

Chi Hair Straightener by any other Name?
After hearing rave reviews, I purchased a Chi Ceramic Hair styling iron (by Farouk) from JC Penny. I tried it over my previously straightened hair using the Chi spray and it fried my hair! I am taking it back.
Written on the top plate is ';Global Beauty Network'; with a red round ';CHI'; label at the hinge. Is this a real Chi?
I was told to test it on a cotton square. It got very hot when it was supposed to remain just warm.
Is this a real CHI?
If not, can anyone recommend one that leaves the hair shiny and straight but doesn't burn?Chi Hair Straightener by any other Name?
Well, real CHI's do not have a temperature knob, and they do have the GBN and red round CHI label at the hinge.
Do you have thick frizzy hair or fine thin hair? CHI's work wonders with thick frizzy hair and average hair. If it burns your hair, then maybe you did something wrong. I have never used my CHI on previously straightened hair, and that might be the case.
I suggest you give it another try. If the results don't please you, then by all means, take it back. Ask you're hairdresser (if you go to the same person to get your hair cut over and over again) what kind of flat iron would work best with your hair.
Best of luck!Chi Hair Straightener by any other Name?
I did NOT choose this answer as best. It is not best at all! There were other answers that actually answered the question without insulting the asker.
I want to thank those others who responded for their kind and informative responses.
I don't know if yours is a real CHI but I have tried and love the Vidal Sassoon ceramic tools (especially the flat iron).
I have never had a problem with my Chi. Did you get a knock-off, by chance?
I can back the product up since i got my strightener in Europe, its called bellissima. But if it fried your hair the problem might not be with the straightener it might be with the temperature you put it on. Like my straightener straightens good and it only goes up to 200 degrees. Maybe yours was like 300, which does fry hair. Good luck.

Is the CHI hair straightener worth its price?
i really want it cus my hair is really curly and hard to keep straight and a lot of people recommend this straightener. and ive tried so many other straighteners that were cheaper but they never work. my mom doesnt believe me that the chi is worth how much it is. is it really as great as people say it is?
please let me know soon. thanks:)Is the CHI hair straightener worth its price?
yes. i only use CHI
it heats up quickly and gets my hair really straightIs the CHI hair straightener worth its price?
My sister stands by hers, but I have always had natural spiral curly hair, and it has never done what it claims to do! Have mom take you to a salon (stay away from the ones in Walmart) and just get a chemical straightener put in. In the long run, there is less damage to the hair, you don't have to keep using a lot of product in your hair, and it won't take you half as long to get ready!
yes it works really well....my hair is curly 2....lasts long... okii another good one is Revlon....
shure if you want burnt hair.

Is the chi hair Straightener really that good?!?
im asking that for my birthday and i want to know if its worth the money for my parents to be spending...if its really good what color haha. thanks. Is the chi hair Straightener really that good?!?
My daughter wanted one so badly and was convinced it was better than the conair one we bought her. She and my sister like the chi because their hair is VERY thick and curly and needs the high heat. But when I used it, it burned my hair because my hair is more fine and not as thick, and is pretty straight to begin with. I have to use one with a heat control. To me, the chi is only worth it if you have extreme hair, such as very thick or curly. Most of my smoothing action comes from the shampoo, conditioner, and product I use. And, FYI, mom and dad can get a better deal if they buy it online. If you pay over 100 you have paid way too much.Is the chi hair Straightener really that good?!?
it's not really that 'good'
it's still a hair straightener with a different name and expensive price.
either way it'll damage ure hair with all the choices of heat it's got on it.
it's just a super hot hair straightener.
the only thing good about it is it steams and locks in the moisture
Oh yes! CHI is the way to go IMO. The reaon why the CHI flatirons are so pricey is because the plates are 100% baked ceramic. A lot of the cheaper brands claim that they are ceramic but in actuallity, the ceramic is just ';painted'; on the plates. So yes my answer is GO WITH CHI!!!
its one of the best brand hair straighteners because it uses ceramic plates, HAI in my opinion ranks #1 because the hair salon lady was having trouble straightening my hair and her flat iron brand was chi i also have thick wavy hair
idk my friend uses it, she has some split ends but over all nice hair

Is a chi hair straightener that much better than a conair one?
my hair is not too thick, but my conair straightener (which cost about $30) takes me kind of a while to straighten my hair...would spending all that money on a chi straightener make that much of a difference that it would be worth it?Is a chi hair straightener that much better than a conair one?
Yes... the Chi is amazing
if you straighten your hair a lot then go with chi... if not the conair beacuse of price
but the chi is a really good straightener worth the priceIs a chi hair straightener that much better than a conair one?

Probably. The chi straightener gets hotter than the conair (and other lower end straighteners) and can get your hair straighter faster (so this means less exposure to the heat element). My hair stylist said conair is fine for hair dryers and curling irons, but for straightening the chi is best.
They are better, but they don't have a tempature setting, so be careful, they can be more damaging to your hair. I would reccommend a Sedu straightener. They are better for your hair, and they work better than a chi, but they are more expensive.
I think Chi hair straighteners are much better. They are better quality than Conair and is definitely worth the money. I hope this helps. : )
I used to use a little cheap straightener from walmart. Then I bought a Chi, it is so different! I would never go back.
Chi is much better. Im on my second one.
i would reccomend GHDs

Chi hair straightener in Singapore?
I need to get a Chi straightener and dont want it from ebay or online. Can someone tell me where , in sg, can i get it from. I am coming there only for a day.
Also, approximately, what price would it be?Chi hair straightener in Singapore?
Hi i live in singapore and I bought mine from amazon. It looks the same as what my hair dresser is using, so i guess if you don't want to buy online, you can ask your hair dresser to buy got you. It costs me around S$160 (inclusive of shipping). one thing to note is that you will need a converter because the US voltage is different.Chi hair straightener in Singapore?
Get it on ebay, I payed 90 for mine, shipping to you will be the main cost.
Chi's are about $100 and a little bit more
try a salon
Chi is an american manufactured item, and it can only be sold in hair salons. Here, it runs around $100. And if it is available for retail in Singapore, it would probaly be the same. By the way, Chi is a very good brand of straightener, I happen to own one myself. So nice schoice! Good Luck.

Whats the difference between a CHI hair straightener and a normal one? ?
does the chi straightener permedently straighten it or something? i just dont know..?Whats the difference between a CHI hair straightener and a normal one? ?
it's just the label... n i have one from walmart and from target both that have ceramic plates work just as good as a chi and i got it for 20 bucks...
it's like the same thing with anything... a 100% cotton shirt from target is made the same and with the same materials like a 100% cotton shirt from abercrombie or something like that... it's the name that your paying for not the product...Whats the difference between a CHI hair straightener and a normal one? ?
Well just to tell you... Yeah Chi is all great at the beginning and of course it'll straighten your hair very well, but it also DAMAGES your hair extremely compared to other ones and it's a lot more expensive.
I do think the CHI is better for your hair than the $30 ones. I've used it for several years and it does damage your hair a little, but not nearly as much as the other ones.
the chi uses ceramic plates (hence the name) and sum others jus use metal plates
CHI's are better and more expensive.

Would you reccomend it to me or not? How much is it?Do you use CHI hair straightener? Is it good?
Do NOT get CHI. my family went thru 5 CHI in 3 yrs. Chi breaks within a few months and you have to pay $35 plus shipping to get it fixed. Their warranty is worthless!

CHI sucks!Do you use CHI hair straightener? Is it good?
i've had one for about a year now and i absolutely love it..i have curly hair and it's the only straightnener i've found that works good on my hair so i would definately recommend it...it's usually around $180 or so...expensive but so worth it : )
I got my Solia a few years back, it worked great for my hair (and my sister's hair too). Last August my sister went to a college in california, she took the Solia with her. Initially I wanted another Solia, but Jonna (my hair stylist) convinced me to get a Sedu. I did. Like Jonna said, Sedu is the best.
I have an entire box of junk that I have bought throughout the years to straighten my hair, including other flat irons. Nothing has ever come even close to giving the results that Sedu does.
I have thick, curly hair which is prone to frizzing when it is straightened. I chose Sedu after my hair stylist used it on my hair. This really does work. It heats up quickly, and is very light and comfortable to use. I can finally straighten my hair myself and look like I came from the salon, in about 15 minutes. It does not dry, break or damage my hair in any noticable way.
Yes it is brill but pricey
The Chi is amazing. I would die without mine. But its pretty expensive. (Forgot how much though. sorry)

Where can I buy Farouk Chi hair straightener?
the easiest way to get them is through eBay, i saw tons of them sold at eBay with free shipping... I bought one for my girlfriend for her birth day and she loved it....
What are Chi Hair Straightener?
Obviously they are hair straighteners, I mean why are they different to average straighteners, would you recommend these for very long, thick hair? If so where can I buy some, how much are they and how long would it take for me to straighten my waist length hair?
Thanks in advance. What are Chi Hair Straightener?
They are professional brand that are meant to be used with the Chi product. They don't have to be used with them but when you do you get very good results. They will heat up faster and be better on your hair then average straighteners. I would recommend the whole Chi line including the straightener for long thick hair, the Chi line is made for hair like yours. They may cost a bit but I know they last long and I believe they come with warrenty so if they wreak they will replace them.Try this site... http://www.folica.com/brands/chi_2.html?鈥?/a> Or I'd even suggest a local hair salon or ebay is a good place to get this stuff. What are Chi Hair Straightener?
i recommend you to get any sort of straighteners which have a solid ceramic plates on and go up to a temperature of 200 to 230c.
GHDS,CHI'S, and CHS are all good hair straighteners . they bring my hair up lovely and soft and no waves found. always perfectly straight !
Chi is the name brand of a hair straighnter. A Chi straighter runs about $100. They can be bought at a beauty supply store.
I am not a sells person but girl it's just a good iron to have. I have 3. You can use them on damp or dry hair. I leave the hair silky smooth and it's 90% better than a regular flat iron. Don't use the imitation because there are a lot of them out there. It sill want compare to the original Chi. Once you use it, you will see the difference. It's very good on thick hair it will leave your hair feeling so light.
They're above average straighteners with ceramic/ion features.. which is why they're kinda expensive. Sally's beauty supply should have some, if not try Wal-Mart or Walgreens. The internet is always a good marketplace.. just be sure it's not a bootleg form Japan :).. I would recommend chemical straightening for long, thick hair b/c it cuts down on time considerably since all you must do is maintain it's state. But that's only if you want it in the long run. Those are expensive 4real. It would take you over an hour to straighten your waist-long thick hair w/ any straightener.
I Dont Know Srry
But My Hair Is Wavy And Out Of control
Try Big Plated GHD Straightners
About $100 but a little cheaper on Ebay, best straightner there is. You can find them at any beauty supply store, try Sally's Beauty Supply. Think a friend of mine said she got hers on ebay for $59 bucks and it was a steal. Works really great on thick hair.
Well I have found it impossible to get hold of a Chi hairdryer and straigheners here in the UK! I read excellent reviews about them and tried desperatley for a month to get them from all sources - ebay, internet etc, but it seems they were only on sale in the USA. (different voltage, plugs and hige import tax) :(
Try looking at www.folica.com They have some great before/after shots of people who have used and rated Chi products.
I have very long hair, and they are the most selling hair straighteners in the world, usa at least. but I have one an dit works great, my hair is about mid-back length and it takes form 5-8 minutes to straighten.

The Chi flat iron provides straightening and shine without damaging your hair as much as other flat irons - giving you much healthier looking hair in the long run. The main difference in Chi irons is their ceramic plates and construction. Other, less expensive, flat irons are static and do not have the ';give'; the Chi iron has, resulting in damage, particularly split ends.
According to makeupalley.com (the place that I go to research any beauty purchases that I make - especially large ones) The CHI Iron is rated at 91% satisfaction, out of 344 reviews - the main complaint being the price. The CHI Iron can cost about $100 - $200 dollars - but this is money well spent if you plan to straighten your hair regularly.
You can find them at the lowest prices on Ebay, sometimes on overstock.com
The time required will vary based on the thickness and texture of your hair. My thick, wavy, shoulder length hair takes about 45 minutes.
To keep your hair looking its best make sure to use a heat-protective serum and have your ends trimmed regularly. Hope that helps.
It's a straightening iron that is made of ceramic instead of metal, which is much better for your hair. I have one and if I were stuck on a deserted island with only 3 wishes, my Chi iron would be my first wish! It works wonders for frizzy hair. You can get one from any hair salon for about $120. You have to take one inch sections of your hair at a time and it works best when you follow the Chi down your hair with a comb. If you have waist length hair it might take you a good 30-40 minutes depending on how thick your hair is. Good luck!

chi- 75% ceramic, 25% metal- so it still burns your hair
i would try a corioliss because they are 100% ceramicWhats the difference between a Chi hair straightener and other flat irons??
As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons, including Sedu, HAI, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss GHD, T3, Kenta etc.
In terms of performance:
The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, GHD. These are top of the line professional brands
Above average: CHI, HAI, Paul Mitchell,
Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss
Worst: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, DO not buy them.
A Chi is a better straightener by far! But if you have straight hair to begin with then there is no reason for you to have a Chi. It is more expensive. On the other hand if you have curly/wavy hair it might be worth it... If you go to Ulta.. ask them there what the next best step up to the chi is... any stylest at your salon would know also!
A chi gets hotter and heats up faster and it is usually thin so you can flip the ends of your hair out.
about $75 haha no but most chi's only go to about 400 degree's. my remington goes up to 425 degree's and it was only $25 . just mainly. ones a salon name brand ( chi) . therefore it cost more. Some times they have better plates. dont get the cheap ( yellow or red usually. ) ones.

almost any beauty store too

Ebay.com
They sell them for around 50.00! That's really cheap for a chi hair straightener. They usually sell up to 200.00! That's insane.
ulta
any beauty/ hair supply store should have them
sometimes they are availiable at salons
I got mine at Target, but Sally's Beauty Supply also has them, as well as Ulta Beauty.

Question about Chi hair straightener?
I was wondering the temperature a 1 inch, black Chi hair straightener got. I have a 'generic' one and it gets to around 410 degrees, but what about an original one?Question about Chi hair straightener?
The 1'; Chi straightener doesn't have an adjustable temperature, it stays fixed at 370 degrees Fahrenheit (:

and it heats up to 375degrees fareanthiet i think
i got the plain black one 1 inch
um
i use this silk drops stuff to make hair softer when u iron it
its called silk drops by fx special effects
its like 4 dollars at walmart
apply to fully dry hair and then iron
it works for me i have been doing it for like 2 years now, haha
and still no damge, well of course the normal ,cos anytime u use any heat tool it will damage ur hair, the chi doesent as much coz its pure ceramic plates..
good luckIs the Farouk Chi Hair Straightener good?
I've never heard of it, but it sounds asian, which is good because asain straightners usually work the best. I'm not sure how hot it gets, but you can probobly look it up on a website. Don't use it too often though, or it'll burn your hair, unless you use a product that protects against heat, like the tresseme ones.
i dont like chi hair straighteners..they damage my hair alot
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1iSIMOKA鈥?/a>
i use ^^
the iso international straightener...
i can straighten, curl, and wave my hair with it
and its fairly cheap
and whatever i do to my hair stays in for 4 days
and my hair used to never curl
its truly amazing

to be perfectly honest as long as the have a ceramic plate and a thermo on any straightners are good. not necessary the more expensive the better, go on sallys its a hairdrssers website who sell to trade an non trade. u can usually pick up a bargin on there. some of them go to over 200 degrees, but remember ur heat protector, clynol flatter is the only product heat stabe at 200. other than that the products burn off leaving u no proctection to the heat.
mine gets to 410? i believe.
maybe a little les.
I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hope i helped.

Should I get the CHI hair straightener?
Ok well im debating if I should or not. Everyone says its really good. My hair's kinda thick. But it looks fine if I don't do anything to it. It's wavy. But I mean I don't know if it's good or not. One of my friends uses it and it looks gorgeous on her.Should I get the CHI hair straightener?
No, no, no, no, no! Chi flat irons are the worst I have ever had. Everyone says it's good, but they are low quality and destroy hair use after use. It has only one heat setting so you can't adjust it to your hair type and the plates are only ceramic coated, no tourmaline or added bonuses or 100%. A recommendation would be the Solia 1 inch. Same size, better quality, better results, healthier hair. There is only a small price difference. Also, Solia's warrenty is better as well!
I actually prefer Sedu, but Solia works as well. Just stay away from Chi flat irons. I love their products though!Should I get the CHI hair straightener?
well i have such thick hair i always have to put it up but the chi straightener is more for thin hair my oldest sister has one and she has super thin hair and it works like magic but i made the mistake to sleep in a wet ponytail and it was crazy i woke up and tried to fix it with the straitener and it didnt work at all so no dont get it
Hi! (: I think you should really get it. It's the best hair straightner around, it could straighten, flip, curl, and crimp. I have the iSmooth, and its really good, especially for fixing up bad hair days, hehe. :D I hope this helps, good luck~
Chi's are really good, but if you're not careful they can burn your hair. I got one, and if I held the irons on my hair even a few seconds too long it made my hair smell weird all day because it fried it.
Hiiiiii! you shudd get the chi! i have thick hair toooo. it will loook gorgeous on you toooo!
yes.. i was i the same position like you and was optimistic about it but the i got it was like why iddn't i get this before!? lol so yes plus it helps with frizz too
sure go spend 200 bucks if you want. or u can spend like 40 on a Bedhead one, i have REALLY really thick hair bedhead is really really good. ^^
Yes you should! The CHI is amazing! Only straightener i'll use. It's worth it's price for sure! :)

Where can I buy a Chi hair straightener?
Around the Toronto, ON, Canada area? (e.g. Burlington, Oakville, Hamilton, etc.)
Where do they sell it the cheapest?
Is it really all that amazing?
What are some pros and cons of the Chi?
How much, on average, is a Chi?
Thank you :)Where can I buy a Chi hair straightener?
Around my area they only sell them in the beauty supply stores. They are pricey .. around 100- 150. They are a great product! Works wonders in our salon. If you have very curly hair I would recommend this over any straightening product. A little trick most hairdressers haven't discovered you can also use the Chi to make really neat looking curls as well! I can't think of any cons other than the price. It heats up amazingly fast.. be careful!Where can I buy a Chi hair straightener?
I'd advise you not to buy one. I had a chi for less than a year before it broke! Plus it fried my healthy hair. Look for a different straightener, not a chi! :/ Good luck!

Which Chi hair straightener should i get?
I really want a Chi hair straightener but there are many different types. My hair is semi-thick and wavy. Any help would be great. Thanks =)Which Chi hair straightener should i get?
I recommend the one inch model. Not only is the medium width easy to work with, but it is more versatile and will allow you to create waves and ringlets that you cannot achieve with a wider model.Which Chi hair straightener should i get?
get the wireless one[:
how long is your hair? if it isn't super long, i suggest getting a 1 inch, for starters. they are just so much more versatile.
i use the blue nano chi in the salon i'm at, but if you are the only person using the iron, then i recommend the chi ultra. it is going to get your hair super straight and you can curl or flip or whatever with it as well.
FHI is also a really good iron to check into. it is made by farouk (the same company that makes chi) and i know a lot of stylist that greatly prefer it over chi. it gets hotter than chi irons do.
my favorite iron is by ghd (http://www.ghdhair.com) but it is little more expensive.
I have used quite a few different flat irons but Chi, by far, gets the best results! The classic 1'; is the best.
Make sure you use a producte on your hair to protect it from the heat.
my family went thru 5 CHI in 3 yrs. Chi breaks within a
few months and you have to pay $35 plus shipping to get
it fixed.
Chi is being recalled now due to fire hazards. see:
http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtm鈥?/a>
Yes, CHI sucks!
I have the two inch turbo one, and I have semilong, thick, curly hair. It takes me about 10 minutes to get it completely straight!
get the one inch that way you can get closer to the roots...
I say you should get a Sedu hair straightener, I researched it for a while (I was going to get a Chi too) and eventually settled on it myself.
It works like a charm and I actually get compliments on how straight my hair is. (:
My hair sounds pretty similar to yours, too.

Chi- Hair Straightener?
What is a good thing to use to wipe off the plates of my CHI? Someone used it and she had gel %26amp; hairspray in her hair and now there is residue on it, I don't want to mess up my plates so what is a good thing to use??
Thanks so much for all the answers!Chi- Hair Straightener?
alcohol on a cotton ball. make sure the iron is cool before doing it.Chi- Hair Straightener?
i sometimes use baby wipes to wipe off my chi straightener and i have never had a problem with it. (not super wet baby wipes, but a lightly damp one, of course)
After cooling I wipe the plates off with rubbing alcohol.
who used it sis?
i agree with the first answer above ^

Chi hair straightener?
i have thick spiral curly hair and maybe a lil bushy but thats only cuz i got it thinned out
should i get the 2 inch or the one inch chi hair straightenter?
i think 2 inch cuz reviews say that it heats up well and straightens hair in minutes im used to doing it in 40 minutes sometimes to an hour
but others say it takes to long to heat up and awhile to straighten itChi hair straightener?
chi is not good get a sedu or ghd for thicker hairChi hair straightener?
i gotta 2 and i love it so go wit the 2
The 2 inch Chi is the best....do NOT try any junk from the retail stores...
2 inch!!
yes 2 inch i have it also make sure b4 u straighten use a protectant spray
get it and try it and if it doesn't work give it to a sibling and try another! But I think 2 inch would work for thick hair! I have really thick hair too! lol
2 inch since you say you have thick hair.
okay so i'll give you some inside info on the Chi. It heats up fast and works really well but according to my hair stylist, her supplier had to drop the chi and go for for the GHD. Apparently the Chi got too many returns and complaints so they canceled it in the supplier warehouse. But anyways, other than that the Chi does work REALLY well.
goodluck! =]
I have the 1 inch......it rocks!
Either one will work great on your hair and they last for a LONG time to!
I also suggest with it you use sleek hair straighning spray it in an orange bottle it smells great and will help your hair straighten and look silky.
:-)
Do NOT get CHI. my family went thru 5 CHI in 3 yrs. Chi breaks within a few months and you have to pay $35 plus shipping to get it fixed.
U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission just announced a recall of Chi flat irons due to fire and burn hazards:

CHI sucks!
i have the 1in and it works better cuz i tried a 2in and it wuz hard to handle
The Chi is the best straightener out there. Everyone should have one. 2 inch is good. It takes like 6 seconds to heat up and straightens perfectly..do it in sections for best results.
If you have thick curly hair, then I'd definately choose the 2 inch. I have thick wavy hair and my hair dress literally takes less than 3 minutes straightening my whole head its amazing.
Also, I own the Solita one and it goes up to 450 degrees, I love it!
Hope I could help!
I have same tecture hair. I found this hair straightener at Walmart. It's so cheap and works very well.
It's called the Remington hair straighteners.
Im a hairdresser %26amp; just purchased the new Babyliss straightner....its light blue %26amp; heats up to 450 degrees... my hair is also natural curly, I was amazed of how fast this straightner straightened my hair...much faster than the chi...you will not be disappointed...the chi goes up to only 410 degrees. The courser the hair, the higher heat that you need...also it will be less damaging due to the fact you do not have to hold it on the hair as long...it is about the same price as the chi. good luck
should i get the 2 inch or the one inch chi hair straightenter?
i think 2 inch cuz reviews say that it heats up well and straightens hair in minutes im used to doing it in 40 minutes sometimes to an hour
but others say it takes to long to heat up and awhile to straighten itChi hair straightener?
chi is not good get a sedu or ghd for thicker hairChi hair straightener?
i gotta 2 and i love it so go wit the 2
The 2 inch Chi is the best....do NOT try any junk from the retail stores...
2 inch!!
yes 2 inch i have it also make sure b4 u straighten use a protectant spray
get it and try it and if it doesn't work give it to a sibling and try another!
But anyways, other than that the Chi does work REALLY well.
goodluck! =]

Chi hair straightener
i have heard a lot about the chi hair straightener..it seems pretty good..i need a new hair straightener because mine is horrible..i was wondering if the chi would be good on my hair, which is naturally wavy and verrrrrrrrry frizzy..i can straighten my hair and as soon as i step outside it is frizzy and wavy in the front. there is a lottt of humidity where i live..so, would that be a good choice..or is there anything else i can do.Chi hair straightener
dont get a Chi because they break easily and they dont last long:( get a Sedu!they are the best they last longer than Chi and do a better job:)the best part is that it keeps your hair straight even in humidity:)
before after pics-http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Ionic_Cera_r1鈥?/a>Chi hair straightener
i also have wavy moderatly frizzy hair and i borowed the chi hair straigtener from my friend and it worked VERY well!
as for the humidity i would suggest getting a serum that is made to keep humidity from messing with your hair and the Garnier Fructis Style Sleek %26amp; Shine Anti-Humidity Hair spray may be a great option for you also

How hot does the chi hair straightener get?Chi Hair Straightener?
I thought I read somewhere that it gets to about 385 degrees, but I would think it might get to a bit more. I've heard great things about this iron.
I must say that I have Paul Mitchell's The Smoothing Iron (the one with the lime green plates), and it is hands-down the best appliance I have ever purchased. My hair has never been as straight as it is with this iron, not at all frizzy, and soft. If the Chi iron is anywhere near as good as the PM iron (and I often hear them compared as equal or near equal), I would say it's worth it! :)

Chi Hair Straightener?
Does anyone own a chi hair straightener? because i just bought mine about 9 months ago.. and it costed 250$ and now when i plug it in the light doesnt come on and it wont even heat up!!! so i called them and they said i have to send it in and pay an additional 45 dollars to get it fixed! i personally yhink if i was going to spend 250$ on a hairstraightener it should last more than 9 months! has this happened to anyone else?Chi Hair Straightener?
Did you try hitting the reset button on the plug and the one in your wall? Sometime the GFCI button on the plug does it, sometimes the one in the wall does it...just try hitting the reset on both. Yea, $45 bucks is a rip off. But I found my Chi for $140...at Target. And yes, it IS a genuine Chi - you can call them and ask, which is what I did.Chi Hair Straightener?
Ive had mine for about a year now, no problems. You may have gotten a defective one. Sue their *** lol.
i have mine and this has happened before i love the chi though dont get me wrong but all you have to do is on the plug there is a button and it says reset that should do it! enjoy your chi i love mine.
:]
Make sure it's a genuine Chi. Target now carries chi straighteners but I heard that they're not the official kind of something and that's why these straighteners are breaking and stuff.
This hasn't happened to me, but I would get it fixed and if it happens again tell them you thoughts and feeling with this situation.

I have the same hair type as you, and I have went through many hair straightners. The one I am currently using, and LOVE, is the Paul Mitchell Smoothing Iron. It's temperature goes up pretty high, it makes your hair soft, smooth, and shiny. I absolutely LOVE it.
I recommend it, because it lasts longer than most straighteners.

Chi hair straightener
I just ordered a chi air straightener. They are pretty expensive so I decided to read some reviews ... after I ordered it. (lol) I heard that many people have had issues with them. Like they broke after like a month or so. Has anybody had problems with theirs? Are they worth the splurge?
Thanks
~Meg :)Chi hair straightener
I haven't got one
but my friend has and she loves them, she's had them for a year and a half now and theyworkexcellently on her hair, there the best she has.
I have a remington and mine's pretty good too.
But i will warn you , DON'T buy a GHD, a lot of people will tell you too but don't because they have too much power and can damage your hair.Chi hair straightener
My mom just got a CHI like a month ago. It still works for her BUT i got a $35.00 straightener and i like it better. I have thick hair and i like the thicker straighteners. The CHI is too small for me. If you have thick hair I'd suggest a thicker straightener. You can spend 20 dollars on a straightener and it can still work. No need to max out.
Mine broke after about a year of some harsh wear-n-tear. But, if you keep the box they will give you a new one if anything goes wrong with it. In my opinion it is worth the money!!
Have a great day!
My mom just bought a CHI hair straightener and it didn't work on her thin curly short black hair. But I tried it out and it worked amzing on my lshoulder length brown curly hair.

Will a Chi hair straightener turn off if left on and gets too hot?
Not that I know of. My Chi got left on when I forgot to turn it off before I left for school, and it was still on when I came back like 8 hours later, lol.

What is the best CHI hair straightener/ flat iron ?
i have a straightener but its not very good. anf i heard that the chi ones were great. so i just wanted to know which ones are the best chi straighteners. thanx !What is the best CHI hair straightener/ flat iron ?
The GHD is number 1 and the CHI is number 2.
I use to own the CHI for two years and now own the GHD. If the GHD is too much (about $240 now on sephora.com), then the CHI is still a good investment. I only switched to the GHD in 2008, because it holds up better in the humidity.
Good Luck and Best Wishes! What is the best CHI hair straightener/ flat iron ?
i think all the chi straighteners are amazing but the digital ones are the best because u can set it to a specific degrees.
Probably any kind of Chi would work great.

Chi's actually have ceramic around the plate that protects your hair from heat damage.
It also makes your hair shinier at the same time because its ceramic, where as many straightners are metal, then painted gold to look ceramic.
no.Just put protecter on and condition your hair reguraly and you should be fine. You don't have to run the iron slow,Chi is a good staightner so it should work fast.Just section your hair.
i use a chi and my hair is perfectly fine. i do get a lot of split ends over time, but i just get them cut off and my hair is perfectly healthy again :)
all straighteners will destroy your hair. no matter what, there is still heat on your hair. even if you use a protector.

I need a new hair straightener. I have naturally, thick, curly/wavy hair. I really want to get a Chi, however, I don't wanna spend a lot of money on it. So what kind works really well and lasts for a long time? and is under 130 dollars. thanks. :DWhat is the best Chi hair straightener under $130?
You should check out the Chi Hair Straightener website, they're giving away 500 free hair straighteners if you are willing to try it out for 60 days and give them feedback. It's some kind of new technology.
I don't know if all 500 are taken but you could always try. Just go to the Chi website or go to the direct link http://www.freesamplesfromheaven.com/chi鈥?/a>

well did you try looking on ebay. I usually order my stuff from there.. They have pretty good deals. Or just go to a salon. CHI hair straightener are pretty expensive to begin with anyways. Good luck finding a cheap one.

Anyone used a Chi Hair Straightener?
I am considering buying a Chi - some of my friends have raved about it! However, I don't know which one to get - there is the regular Chi (red, costs about $129 at Ulta) and then there's the Nano technology one (silver/blue, costs $169). I'm not sure what the difference is or if it's worth the extra $40. Let me know what you think about the Chi in general and which one I should spring for. Thanks!Anyone used a Chi Hair Straightener?
My hair salon specializes in Chi. It makes a world of difference, trust me. Go for it! As for the difference, unless you have crazy wavy hair, the regular one should be just fine.Anyone used a Chi Hair Straightener?
Hey yeah i think you should get Chi!!WEll the reason why is because i used the red ceramic one!!Oh my goodness its unbelievable! It dont even take that long to heat up!!An also it dont take that long depending on how long your hair is but even then it dont take long to straighten it!!...Good luck deciding on wether or not your going to get it!!

Does using a Chi hair straightener kill your hair?
I'm wanting to buy one, and my hair's pretty thick, and very curly and frizzy. Will using a Chi badly damage my hair?Does using a Chi hair straightener kill your hair?
All heat styling tools are somewhat bad fo your hair, but chi is made of top of the line ceramic, and is the best for you hair. also, you can buy products to spray into your hair that protect it. I use Dove intense dmage therapy for 4$ at walmart. It absorbs the heat so i prevents damage, also it conditions it so u have less frizz and fly aways.Does using a Chi hair straightener kill your hair?
no way. CHI is the safest straightener made of 100% ceramic that wont damage your hair while using a straightening product. Better than any other straightener that will damage your hair. a CHI is meant for any type of hairstyle, especially think and curly. So there you go, i'd definately recommend it.
My roommate's hair started breaking off once she started using the Chi. Just don't turn it up too high and you should be fine
well heat styling is never ';good'; for the hair, but it's supposed to be a good straightener
no my hairdresser uses one and i'm getting one for christmas
and it seal the cuticle and is very good and locks in shine and keeps it straight
you cant kill your ahir.. its already dead... but any heat styling product will damage your hair over time. But the better product u use- the less damage will be done
it does damage your hair but all heat products do...the reason its better is becuase its made with ceramic, not metal, which is very damaging on one's hair

The first one is the one i have. Its great. Lurrve the chiWhere can i get a brand new chi hair straightener?
Pretty much the only way to make 100% sure you are getting a 100% authentic CHI is to get it directly from the company's website. But that goes the same with any brand. Most the ones auctioned on ebay are real but you have to take your chances. Some beauty supply stores sell them as well. Oh by the way, the only way to tell if it is in fact a authentic CHI is to completely take it apart and look at the parts on the inside. I cringe at the thought of murdering a CHI.
I bought mine at the Regis salon near me. However, I have also seen them at JC Penney, and believe it or not, TARGET! You can order online from either JC Penney or Target, and JC Penney is offering dollars off this weekend on purchases online or in store (and the CHI is sold at any JC Penney hair salon). Check your paper for a coupon.

After i went to italy and greece my chi hair straightener wont work..?
wheni got back from italy i tried to use my chi hair straightener it wouldnt work. idk what happened when i used it over seas. is there any way to fix it?After i went to italy and greece my chi hair straightener wont work..?
it's probobly because of the cord.
when your in a different country,
[depending on where you bought your chi]
the straightener won't work. it has to do something
with the certain watts the country has in a unit or something
like that. thats why salons need to buy specific straighteners
so that the cord/plug will work

I really like the cheetah print one as well as the hot pink and neon green ones!
but i can't find them anywhere!Where can i buy a Chi hair straightener (at a store NOT online)?

Should I purchase the CHI hair straightener?
Because it's so expensive, I just want to know I'm making a good investment.
I'm quite mixed {Puerto Rican, West Indian, Antiguan}, hence the want to change my hair texture, just for a different style.
My hair texture is soft, curly, and thick. Medium length.
Should I go for it?Should I purchase the CHI hair straightener?
well it works great on anyones hair! but it turns bad after about a year. so if you plan on buying a new one in a year then you can do it. because after about 1 year of using it, it starts to loose its heat and not straighten as good.. but a Sedu is also a good straightener that works better! i would use a Sedu like this one -http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Ionic_Cera_d1鈥?/a>Should I purchase the CHI hair straightener?
buy a GVP it doesnt damage your hair as much
yea u should go for it
my stylist used it on me and ever since then i bought it and use it all the time
i love it
Yes, They work very well. I'd recommend a heat protector product for the hair prior to straighting it. I think Chi also has a warranty with it. I have had mine for 4 years and I am a hairstylist so I use it 5 days a week in the salon and it's still kicking.
yea i think you should
just return it if it doesent
work im sure they'd let you do that

What is So special about the ';Chi'; hair straightener?
does it flatten a thing of hair in one stroke? What is So special about the ';Chi'; hair straightener?
Do NOT get CHI. my family went thru 5 CHI in 3 yrs. Chi breaks within a few months and you have to pay $35 plus shipping to get it fixed. Their warranty is worthless!

CHI sucks! What is So special about the ';Chi'; hair straightener?
I have very curly hair.
I had the Sedu which is ALSO very hyped up, but the Chi definitely works better. It is one of the best irons out there. However, it is of poor quality. It breaks easily, and as the plates wear out it straightens hair less efficiently. Honestly, it's a good iron, but there are much better irons out there.
LIKE THE BABYLISS PRO NANO TITANIUM! -cries- It changed my effing life.
.The only reason why people think it's better is because its expensive, and the professionals use it.
.I think it's funny when people say that CHI's won't damage hair...ALL straighteners damage hair, or straighten hair in one two strokes...My $30 one from Sally's does a better job on my hair, then a CHI did, and I prefer that over a CHI anyday(and I have used the chi, and don't like it..at all.), and I've had mine for atleast 4 years, and it still works like brand new....
yes! omg, i loved my chi. my hair is naturally curly, and it definitely straighten in one stroke. It also made me hair feel smooth and look silky and shiney. Mine broke :( i miss it so much and unfortunately i can't afford to buy another one right now. they are expensive but totally worth it in my opinion
The ';Chi'; is the best hair straightener out there! It rocks! It flattens your hair in 1 - 2 strokes (depending on your hair type), your hair stays straight longer, and the device itself is durable and lasts a lot longer. I have one and I LOVE it!!!
Its expensive, so naturally its really popular and it seems to work better than the cheaper versions. Also I think it partley because it is so popular, everyone would want it even if it was crap
Ceramic tiles on the heating ends protect your hair from damage. The heat in evenly distributed. Plus they are bullet proof! I've had the same one for 5 years. It is amazing and it softens split ends and stray hairs.
its stronger %26amp; works better than most straighteners, its also more expenseve, by alot.
%26amp; yes it does flatten a think in one stroke.
its pretty amazing
oh %26amp; it gets hot in like 15 seconds
the chi is amazing. it has ceramic plates soo it doesnt burn your hair and it does flatten in one stroke. they are definetly worth the moneyy.
It's amazing. It'll straighten your hair way faster than a drugstore brand annnnddddd it will last you for a couple of years.
Totally flattens your hair with very very little effort and doesn't burn the sh*t out of it.
i wouldnt get one its not that great my friend has one and it doesnt work like amazing.. i have a conair infiniti and it was only like 40 $
ya it is super ';powerful'; and is just awesome :D
ITS AWESOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CONAIR SUCKS COMPARED TO THE CHII IT WILL PAY FOR IT SELF IT LASTS SOOO LONGG!!
Not necessarily. It works good but it doesn't last at all! I think mine lasted around 5 months... : (
its Ceramic and doesnt damage your hair and yes it does straighten good:)
It is the BEST!
yep! i have very thick, wavy hair and it has worked wonders for me...nothing a conair could ever do
stop talking about your hair!!!!!!!eye liner color

oh %26amp; it gets hot in like 15 seconds
the chi is amazing. it has ceramic plates soo it doesnt burn your hair and it does flatten in one stroke. they are definetly worth the moneyy.
It's amazing. It'll straighten your hair way faster than a drugstore brand annnnddddd it will last you for a couple of years.
Totally flattens your hair with very very little effort and doesn't burn the sh*t out of it.

CHI's do not last long. They break way too easily. Don't waste your money, and don't listen to the one's that are telling you it's the best. Sedu is one of the best straighteners out there and it is only $100.
To purcase a Sedu at the cheapest price, go to Folica.com , scroll to the very top and click on Hair Styling. On the left hand side, there will be and A - Z brand list. Find Sedu, click on it, and everything else from there is self - explanitory.
Or follow this link:

For more information on a Sedu, you can go to sedubeauty.com.

I would also recommend using a 1 inch instead of 1 1/2 inch, because the 1 1/2 doesn't do curls very well.
It reaches 410 degrees, with tempature control. CHI does not have tempature control. That means if the set tempature is too high for your hair, it can fry.
Celebrities have nice hair, and they don't use CHI. They use Sedu. There is something called Sedu hairstyles on every beauty website. No CHI hairstyles right?
Also, on Folica.com, people can post reviews on products after they have tried them. Here are they stats on CHI:
63 people say it is 1 star (bad) out of out of 1174 total reviews.
Sedu:
20 people say it is 1 star (bad) out of 3724 total reviews.
That speaks for itself.Which chi hair straightener is the best?

I'm not talking about ebay, but store wise.thank you:)Where can you get a chi hair straightener?
sallys beauty supply, over stock.com, targetWhere can you get a chi hair straightener?
I got one from JC Penny's for Christmas. They even offered to have me come in another day to teach me how to use it, and curl with it. I highly recommend to you. It straightens, and shines your hair beautifully.
I would not recommend buying a CHI striaghtner because i bought one two years ago (feb 2008) and in december 2008 mine broke. i used it about 4 times a week.
you can get them at target also ulta

Why is a chi hair Straightener/ hairdryer so special?
They are sooooo expensive! Like in the hundreds! I was wondering what makes the chi hair straightener %26amp; hair dryer so special? Why is a chi hair Straightener/ hairdryer so special?
It straightens you hair really well. The 1 inch straigntener has plates that can straighten, flip, or curl. And overall, it has a good heat temperature and gets the most stubborn waves out. The hair dryer not so sure about. Never used one.Why is a chi hair Straightener/ hairdryer so special?
A straightener in the 100's is def. not asking for too much
Well, cheap hair straighteners, like in the 20.00's and stuff, is def. something you should NEVER use on your hair. It will damage it. Harshly.
A straighteners in the $100.00's is oh so much better.
A straightener in the 200.00's is professional, and I would highly recommend you buy it.
If I was going to recommend you a straightener, I would tell you to buy a GHD. It is very expensive, but for what it does, it is not asking for too much. It actually adjusts to your hair type in order to do less damage.
IDK it doesnt make much since to me i was actually just trying to figure it out but searching it while waiting for my nails to dry haha but i found nothing different about them than the price. i have one that was 50 dollars and it works FINE i dont need a 100 dollar straightner. my works fine
two of my friends have the straightener,
theres really nothing special about them.
all of our hair is unstraightened by second period.
i like my wet to straight straightener MUCH better!
omg i have one.
there the best.
they make your hair REALLY straight, there amazing and there better then all the other straightners

Is the CHI hair straightener worth the money?
In your opinion should i buy one? is it worth the money? Is the CHI hair straightener worth the money?
Yes, it DEFINITELY is! It goes through your hair quicker than any other straightener, and it makes your hair look glossy, and very pretty! You can also curl your hair with this, and that's why I like it!
I would recommend going to a discount store, and never pay full price, because most of the CHIs are in the hundred dollar amount. I got mine for discount from TJ Maxx for less than $100.Is the CHI hair straightener worth the money?
i had the pink one.
and when they say 1 year warranty they arnt kidding.
its like there is a timer in it that attomaticly goess off after 1 year lol
but i would just stick to 25 $$ straightners.
the result is the same for me (:
If you're using it often, it is. I bought mine from Ulta on sale with a coupon, so it was only about $100 compared to $150. If you want a cheaper option, Target sells Vidal Sassoon straighteners. I used one for a while, it works really well.
if you can find the CHI digital straightener with the temperature control switch, those are totally worth it.
CHI's have an excellent reputation, i'd recommend them and i work in a saloneye liner color
